Verse Calling out your name every day and night Reaching out to you again and still and I don’t hear you, I don’t hear you Wandering the streets in the fading light Walking next to you but never really and I don’t see you, I don’t see you Refrain (and) things are never going to be the same Verse (It’s) been so long since I saw you face to face, Pictures on a screen aren’t the same, and I can’t touch you, I can’t touch you I can only think about you now and then I can only dream about you now, but I can’t hold you, I can’t hold you Refrain (and) things are never going to be the same (and) we are never going to be the same Verse When it’s over do you think that we can talk Freely about the pain and the hurt, I need to hear you, I need to hear you You say you feel trapped like a rat in a cage When will you see the world outside, it’s not about you, not about you Refrain (and) things are never going to be the same (and) we are never going to be the same Verse Running round in circles just to find the light Spinning out so many times and still, but I can’t find you, I can’t find you Every day looking at the same four walls Trying to remember what we had, but I can’t feel you, I can’t feel you Refrain (and) things are never going to be the same (and) we are never going to be the same

Night Shift 03:27
Verse Moon rising on the boulevard For the moment it’s the same Open windows that we tried to shut Before the change Chorus I’ve been working the night shift Sleeping all day Lost in the silence Nothing to say Verse All together we can weather the storm It’s not the same for you and me We recover just to cover it up So you can breathe Chorus You’ve been working the night shift Sleeping all day Lost in the silence With Nothing to say Working the night shift Verse You place your hand upon the window frame But I’ve forgotten your tough I see you’re smile but it’s not the same When you rust Chorus She’s been taking the night shift Working all day Lost in the silence Nothing to say She’s working the night shift Sleeping all day Darling the silence There’s so much to say
3.
Verse You know I can steel Myself for what’s to come And you know I can feel Alone around anyone I know it can be hard When it seems like everyday I go to that place That makes you want to run away Chorus But don’t give up on me Don’t give up on me today Verse I know I was wrong But I’m so afraid sometimes And I know I’m only strong When they come for what is mine Chorus But don’t give up on me Don’t give up on me today Bridge You can’t be the same, And I can feel that And I can’t be the same There’s nothing to it You can’t feel this way forever, It’s not within you now Chorus Just don’t give up on me Don’t give up on me this way Don’t give up on me Don’t give up on me today
4.
Verse Love, is it black and white? Are there shades of light? In the darkened sun When I was just a kid, I never said or did, all the things you’ve had to Chorus/Refrain Sometimes it seems the world is just too much Outside (y)our hands and I need to feel your touch You shouldn’t have to be the stronger one, it’s not fair and you’re so young But I can’t do this right And I just need you to sing the lullaby tonight Verse Two, one and one, is a greater sum, than I imagined Home, now you’re safe and warm, there’s no need to mourn, what happened (in the past) yesterday Chorus/Refrain Sometimes it seems the world is just too much Outside our hands and need to feel your touch You shouldn’t have to be the stronger one, it’s not fair and you’re so young But I can’t do this right And I just need you to sing the lullaby tonight Bridge Wake up tomorrow Forget about today This can't be forever Break on to the sea Verse When, do we give up the reigns, let in the pain, and stop protecting I hope, we’ll do enough, you’ve taught us love, can we live up to it? Chorus/Refrain Sometimes it seems the world is just too much Outside our hands and need to feel your touch You shouldn’t have to be the stronger one, it’s not fair and you’re so young But I can’t do this right And I just need you to sing the lullaby tonight
